Boost Pressure Switch

This boost pressure switch is an important safety component designed to protect the engine from excessive boost pressure and potentially costly overboost damage.

For example on Porsche 930 applications, the switch monitors boost pressure and activates the safety circuit if the boost pressure exceeds the specified limit. When triggered, the switch connects the signal wire directly to ground, causing the fuel supply to be interrupted and helping prevent the engine from continuing to operate under dangerous overboost conditions.

Specifications:

Switching pressure: 1.4 bar
Hysteresis: 0.3 bar
Above 1.4 bar: signal wire is connected to ground
Below approx. 1.1 bar: ground connection is released

The built-in hysteresis prevents rapid switching when boost pressure fluctuates around the activation point.

Recommended Preventive Replacement:
For additional protection, we also recommend replacing the boost pressure sensor, part #99360610301, at the same time.

Replacing both components together helps ensure reliable operation of the boost monitoring and protection system and can reduce the risk of expensive engine damage caused by an undetected or uncontrolled overboost condition.

Especially on vehicles with unknown service history or older original components, replacing both parts is a sensible preventive maintenance measure.
