Race Exhaust Thermal Insulation 986 / 987 / 981 - Exhaust Systems Without Mufflers

This insulation is the latest development in race exhaust technology, used on the Porsche GT3 RSR and GT3 Cup R. It is composed of a non-woven needle-silicate fiber surrounded by a stainless-steel foil that is physically welded onto the exhaust to completely contain the heat. This material can withstand temperatures of over 1100 ° Celsius. By reducing heat buildup in and around the engine, intake temperatures are greatly reduced allowing for noticeable performance gains.
