Manual Seat Rail Kit for RECARO PODIUM – Compatible with Porsche 991/ 992Models
Manual seat rail kit for installing RECARO PODIUM bucket seats in Porsche vehicles starting from the 991 generation. In combination with adapter 521 990 8, this kit is compatible with current Porsche models including 991, 992, Carrera, Turbo, and GT3.
For proper installation, the airbag deactivation kit (part number 720 171 0) is additionally required. On Porsche vehicles from the 991 generation onward, modification of the vehicle electronics is necessary. This includes adapting the connectors for seat occupancy detection, seat airbag, and passenger airbag systems. Based on experience, the electronic modification requires approximately 2 hours of labor, including installation of resistors and soldering work within the connector.
Important Notice:
For Porsche vehicles from the 991 generation onward, this is NOT a plug-and-play solution like it was for older models up to and including the 997 generation.
After installation, the vehicle must also be programmed using a diagnostic tool. The configuration “bucket seat without seat heating” must be coded and uploaded to all relevant control modules.
