Product description

This is also a kit that is perfect for street use. It is made by Mahle in Germany to 993 3.8L Rennsport model specifications. It is also ultra-reliable and will yield 35+ Hp, depending on your additional modifications. The 109-mm size means that the housings must be modified on non Rennsport models. If you have a European Rennsport Model, these would be slip fit. You can run original camshafts or modified cams up to a maximum valve lift (TDC) of 2.1 mm.

Mahle pistons are forged for substantially higher and more uniform strength over pistons that are cast. Mahle cylinders are manufactured from ST52 steel which has extremely high thermal resistance, they are Nikasil coated which reduces wear and friction. We also have the piston rings (sealing and oil scrapers) pre-installed to ensure reliability. Each of our Piston and Cylinder kits are complete and ready for installation.

We also recommend using our 3.8L software, part # FVD964618XX for 964 models and part # FVD99361810or FVD99361870 for 993 models with this kit. Just specify that you will be running this set when you order the software.

For 964 Models: This set is made to be used with the narrow connecting rod eye of the 993 rods. You can use 993 rods or have your 964 rods machined, but we highly recommend using the Carrillo Rods which are tailored to this application, part # FVD10397503.

Tip for 964 Models: If you would like to use your 964 connecting rods, send them to us and we will have them modified to the narrow rod eye spec. like the 993. Please order our part # 000 300 207 and mention that you will send in the rods to your sales person. Modifications are done in Germany.

PLEASE NOTE: Carefully read our technical information before installing the parts. Piston rings and piston pins must not be modified. Modifications of any of these parts will void the manufacturer's warranty.
