Product description

With the 992 generation, Porsche introduced turbocharging across the entire 911 lineup. This brought major tuning potential but also a completely redesigned intake and intercooler layout. Unlike earlier models with top- or rear-mounted intakes, the 992 Carrera uses dual airboxes tucked behind the rear wheel arches.

The performance of any turbocharged Porsche depends heavily on two factors: inlet air temperature (IAT) and system backpressure. Just as important is ensuring sufficient airflow before the compressor to avoid surge. Reducing restriction and lowering IAT allows the turbos to move a larger air mass—feeding more oxygen to the engine and unlocking measurable power gains.

For this reason, FVD Brombacher recommends removing intake restrictions with do88's performance turbo inlet hoses, ideally paired with a high-flow sport air filter (BMC or Sprint Filter). Since both the inlet hoses and air filters are accessed in the left and right rear wheel wells, the upgrades can be performed together—saving significant labor time or DIY effort. Years of testing confirm the direct link between IAT, compressor airflow, and overall engine output. And with the twin-turbo Carrera's vast tuning potential, these engines are always hungry for more air. From there, FVD Brombacher software tuning is the logical next step, unlocking the full benefit of these intake improvements.

Engineering + Development
do88, a Swedish performance engineering firm founded in 2007, designs and validates all components in-house to the highest standards. Development of the 992 Carrera inlet hoses began with a 3D scan of the engine bay to capture exact geometries and constraints. CAD modeling in SolidWorks allowed iterative design with optimized radii, transitions, and angles to minimize turbulence and pressure loss. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis was used to evaluate airflow and pressure distribution, while final prototypes were tested on a Superflow SF1020 flowbench for verified performance gains.

The result is a demonstrable improvement in airflow efficiency and power potential over the factory turbo inlet hoses (OE part # 992 145 584A/C/E/G and 991 145 583A/C/E).
