The Brombacher Sport Muffler Set gives the Porsche 997.2 DFI a powerful, refined flat-six sound while delivering performance gains of up to 7 kW (10 PS).

Unlike many conventional aftermarket systems, the Brombacher muffler features an advanced internal design with double-perforated sound-absorption tubes based on the half-counter-current principle. The trapezoidally arranged perforations use varying diameters to isolate and suppress the unwanted frequencies responsible for exhaust drone.

Compared with traditional baffle-plate designs, the perforated tubing creates significantly less restriction at high exhaust-gas velocities. The resulting lower backpressure and reduced heat buildup improve throttle response and support performance throughout the entire rev range.

The outer casing is specially formed to eliminate undesirable resonance frequencies, while the large 63.5 mm tubing helps reduce thermal stress. Engineered for high temperatures, durability, and demanding use, each system is extensively tested for flow rate, thermal load, cracking resistance, and long-term reliability—both on the dynamometer and at the racetrack.

Fitment Information:

This muffler set is designed for vehicles equipped with the standard exhaust system and is not compatible with the Porsche Sport Exhaust system (PSE).

Due to the larger outlet diameter, 3.6-liter models require original exhaust tips from the 3.8-liter S model or compatible FVD exhaust tips.
