This is the inner tie rod axial joint, if it is worn, you will experience sloppy steering response and knocking / creaking sounds. Your outer tie rods keep the steering centered, so failure can be dangerous and can seriously affect steering control. After replacing the tie rods, you will experience tighter, more precise feedback without noise.
We also sell a complete Tie Rod Kit, part # 99334703105 that includes this joint, a tie rod, the bellows and hardware needed for installation.
