Mahle 3.8L Piston & Cylinder Set 964/993 - (11.8:1) 102mm Bore/109mm Sleeve - Mach. Fit - Narrow Rod

The 11.8:1 compression will provide you with more acceleration than kits with 11.3:1 compression. However, this kit cannot be used with original cams, it requires a more aggressive cam (maximum valve lift (TDC) of 2.1 mm) and has very deep pockets for use with RSR valves. The 109-mm size means that the cylinder housings / case must be modified / machined on non-RS models. If you have a European RS Model, these would be slip fit. This kit also requires 6 Qty. larger O-rings, part # 11111 and 6 Qty. larger base O-rings, part # 2610

Mahle pistons are forged for substantially higher and more uniform strength over pistons that are cast. Mahle cylinders are manufactured from ST52 steel which has extremely high thermal resistance, they are Nikasil coated which reduces wear and friction. We also have the piston rings (sealing and oil scrapers) pre-installed to ensure reliability. Each of our Mahle Piston and Cylinder kits are complete and ready for installation. We also recommend using our high compression 3.8L software, part # 507 for 964 models and part# 524 or 1224 for 993 models with this kit. Just specify that you will be running this set when you order the software.

For 964 Models: This set is made to be used with the narrow connecting rod eye of the 993 rods. You can use 993 rods or have your 964 rods machined, but we highly recommend using the Carrillo Rods which are tailored to this application, part # 1111. If you would like to use your 964 connecting rods, send them to us and we will have them modified to the narrow rod eye spec. like the 993. Please order our part # 000 300 207 and mention that you will send in the rods to your sales person. Modifications are done in Germany.
