The street version of our Brombacher mufflers are a more conservative muffler set that gives the 996 a more pronounced sound compared to factory mufflers. All our exhausts are manufactured in Germany and are tested comprehensively for flow rate, thermal stress, resistance to cracking and longevity. We categorize our mufflers sound levels from the mild street version (TÜV approved for Europe), up to the more exotic sounding sport version and finally the wide open, pulse pounding, race version.

Brombacher mufflers are factory stamped externally; unlike our competitors' systems. This outer shell dampens and eliminates unwanted frequencies and ensures no resonance or drone in the cabin. Internally, these sport mufflers vary greatly from designs that are common in the aftermarket. Our muffler is uniquely made with double perforated sound absorption tubes based on the Halbgegenstromprinzip (half counter current principle). The acoustic silencer absorption tubes are made in a trapezoidal pattern and are perforated with varying diameters. This design isolates and dampens the unwanted frequencies that create drone. Perforated tubes also create much less flow restriction than baffle plates at higher gas velocities, and consequently translates into larger performance gains throughout the entire rev range with better throttle response.
