Mass Air Flow Meter (MAF) - Remanufactured - Exchange - With Core Charge

The CIS Injection / K-Jetronic mixture preparation system meters fuel to correspond with the amount of intake air. With the CIS Injection / K-Jetronic, the preparation is performed by the Mass Air Flow Meter which consists of a fuel distributor and a mass airflow sensor.

Air drawn in by the engine flows through the airflow sensor. An air funnel with a movable airflow sensor plate is in the airflow sensor. The air flowing through the funnel moves to the airflow sensor plate out of its home position by a certain degree. The movement of the air flow sensor plate is transferred to the control plunger of the fuel distributor by means of a lever system. This determines the amount of fuel to be supplied. The airflow meter is therefore a critical component of the CIS Injection / K-Jetronic system.
