If you love the idea of saving weight on a budget, this hood is ideal. It is made in Europe by one of the manufacturers to Porsche. It is an extremely high-quality, Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) hood, finished in a black gel coat for paint. Detail is taken to attempt to match the original stamping from factory steel hood. It includes accurate pre-installed hood mounting hardware exactly like factory. Note the detail of every cut out, depression, hardware and the connecting points when compared to the genuine steel hood, part # 17309 for example. Please factor that into your research as installation and labor costs will be much lower with this product due to its factory fitment. The original steel hoods typically weigh around 42 lbs. (19 kg), so this would save approximately 26 lbs. (11.8 kg).

GRP body products need to be prepped, gaps checked and hinges shimmed, if necessary, as air cooled cars are made by hand. We only recommend professional installation with a shop that has Glass Fiber, GRP or Carbon Fiber experience. Hinges and latches are not included.
