This design was an option on the 996 Turbo and C4S models. With the larger diameters, they fit the shape of the bumper cut outs far better than the originals. They also sit in tighter to the body as well which really gives a cohesive appearance to the rear of the car. With the 996.1 generation starting to go up in value, some may want to make a period correct choice when adding components to retain the value and these will accommodate.
