Product description

Background
Spark plugs are one of the most critical components in any Porsche engine. They provide the precise spark needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture in each cylinder, directly affecting throttle response, fuel efficiency, emissions, and overall performance. In modern Porsche engines, spark plugs are paired with individual coil-on-plug ignition systems, meaning that each cylinder has its own coil and plug working together. Because the spark plug forms the final link in the ignition chain, its condition is vital not only for everyday drivability but also for tuning and high-performance applications.

For performance-tuned engines with upgraded camshafts, turbochargers, or FVD Brombacher Porsche Software that increases fueling and ignition demands, spark plugs play an even larger role. A weak or worn plug can cause incomplete combustion, misfires, power loss, and even damage to coils. That is why we always recommend inspecting and replacing coils and plugs together. Doing so saves on labor costs and ensures long-term reliability in both stock and modified Porsche engines.

Symptoms
In late-model Porsche engines (2016 and newer), worn or failing spark plugs can cause rough idle, hesitation during acceleration, reduced fuel efficiency, and cylinder misfire codes such as P030x. Drivers may also notice vibration at cruising speeds, sluggish throttle response, or the check engine light illuminating. In some cases, the engine management system may trigger limp-mode behavior to protect against misfiring.

Features
Bosch double platinum construction ensures long service life and consistent high-energy sparks.
Precision electrode geometry maintains efficient combustion and prevents misfires.
Heat- and corrosion-resistant for extreme engine conditions.
Engineered to exact Porsche specifications for perfect fitment and reliable sealing.
Optimized for coil-on-plug systems to protect ignition coils and deliver smooth drivability, maximum power, and reduced emissions.

Usage
This spark plug is an OEM Bosch double platinum unit, designed as a direct replacement for the original part. It threads directly into the cylinder head and works in conjunction with the ignition coil to ensure reliable combustion. For optimal results, we recommend replacing the ignition coils at the same time to save on labor and prevent mismatched wear—see reference number 67875 for the corresponding coil. For added protection and smooth installation, we also suggest using 1 or 2 quantities of Dielectric Grease, reference number 84014.

Fitment & Quantity
Sold individually.
Six plugs are required for the Porsche 992, four plugs for the 718, and quantities vary depending on model. Please confirm your engine's requirements before ordering.
