The FVD Brombacher 996 K-16/24 street series turbochargers are created for those after power focused in the low and mid rpm range. Street series turbos are ideal for those focused on performance-oriented street driving, canyon carving or mountain climbs. Each turbo utilizes factory housings which are completely bolt on and do not require custom headers or modification of any kind. The factory like appearance of this turbocharger aligns perfectly with 996 Turbo values escalating for clean original cars.

The remanufacturing process starts with re-profiling the OEM turbocharger compressor housing and modifying the compressor backing plate. This is done to replace the factory compressor wheel with a larger, modified wheel. The larger wheel is also lightened which allows the turbo to flow a larger volume of air (more power), and aids in quicker spool up, better throttle response and greater acceleration. In addition, each turbo includes a completely new bearing housing for superior durability. The size of the inducer and exducer are also increased to compensate for the higher volume of air traveling through the compressor. These larger sizes were achieved with larger internals in factory housings which allow our turbos to retain a factory appearance.

Borg Warner / KKK certified technicians remanufacture our turbos. This ensures reliability, superior performance and a factory appearance. They ensure that each individual part is within the specified Borg Warner tolerance and balance them with protocols developed specifically for these turbos. Combined with our proprietary software, intercoolers and engine tuning components, up to 555 hp can be achieved.

Once the core is returned to us and it has been inspected to ensure it is rebuild-able and resell-able, the core deposit will be refunded. This service is only for K16 turbochargers (996 Turbo), a K24 (996 X50 Turbo, 996 Turbo S, 996 GT2) is not considered a valid core for this part number. New DME (ECU) engine management software is necessary for these turbochargers along with a 5.0 bar fuel pressure regulator.
