The 993 varioram models had an improved airflow that enhanced performance at low and mid-range speeds. This was achieved through a new induction system that included a dual throttle body. Our sport throttle body modification is designed to take full advantage of the varioram intake system by enlarging the primary and secondary throttle body diameter to force more air volume into the engine. This results in improved efficiency and performance throughout the entire rpm band. For even better results, we recommend using our varioram software upgrade*, which includes custom maps specifically designed to make the most of the new throttle body.

During the remanufacturing process, we conduct a full inspection of your throttle body to ensure its proper operation. The primary and secondary sides of the throttle body are disassembled and bored up to 2.7-inch (70mm) diameter - depends on the thickness of the housing. We thoroughly clean and degrease the entire throttle body and polish the internals to create more laminar flow. The shaft is then machined to accommodate larger butterflies that match the bore seamlessly. After that, we meticulously check all clearances for precision to ensure reliability.

Please note: This is only for 1996-98 varioram models. The original throttle body part # should be 993 110 125 06 for reference. These cars have engine codes: M64.20/21/22/23/24. *Not all DMEs can be upgraded with our throttle body software, it is best to check with the DME numbers (Porsche # and Bosch #) in advance. FVD Brombacher Software Upgrade is part # 37819 for 1996 models and part # 1224 for 1997 / 1998 models. Each throttle body is remanufactured in Germany, which means that the lead times may vary.
