Product Description:

The valved Brombacher Sport Muffler transforms the Porsche 997.2 with a deeper, more exotic motorsport exhaust note while maintaining everyday comfort. Designed for use with the original tailpipes, it delivers gains of up to 7 kW (10 hp) and 10 lb-ft of torque, improves throttle response, and reduces weight compared with the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust system.

With the valves open, the system produces a rich, aggressive tone with an intoxicating growl at idle, a powerful note under acceleration, and pronounced gurgles and crackles when lifting off the throttle. With the valves closed, the exhaust remains quiet, refined, and close to the factory sound level. This wide range makes it an ideal choice for daily-driven vehicles that are also used for spirited road or track driving.

Manufactured in Germany by M&M Exhaust GmbH, the Brombacher Sport Muffler is constructed from lightweight T304L stainless steel and engineered to withstand extreme thermal loads. Each system is comprehensively tested for airflow, thermal stress, cracking resistance, durability, and long-term performance on both the dynamometer and the racetrack.

Unlike conventional aftermarket mufflers, the Brombacher design uses double-perforated sound-absorption tubes based on the half-counter-current principle. The trapezoidally arranged perforations feature varying diameters to isolate and suppress the frequencies responsible for unwanted cabin drone. This construction also creates significantly less restriction than traditional internal baffle plates, reducing backpressure and heat buildup while improving exhaust flow throughout the rev range.

The specially formed outer casing further minimizes resonance, resulting in a sonorous, factory-inspired motorsport sound without the excessive drone commonly associated with performance exhaust systems.

Important Fitment Information:
For 3.6-liter models and vehicles equipped with the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust system, option code IXLF, larger exhaust tips are required. Use genuine 3.8-liter S exhaust tips or the appropriate FVD exhaust tips.

Recommended exhaust-tip options include:

The larger outlet diameter is required for proper fitment and improved exhaust flow.

When replacing factory PSE mufflers, the Brombacher mufflers connect to the vehicle's existing vacuum lines.

Recommended Upgrade:
For a more pronounced increase in exhaust volume and character, we recommend installing the center muffler bypass pipe:

The bypass pipe is also covered by the TÜV certification. Because the factory center muffler has a significant influence on the overall exhaust note, retaining it will result in a more restrained change in sound.
