The Brombacher Edition 987.2 valved sport muffler varies greatly from designs that are common in the aftermarket. This muffler is uniquely made from German V2A - X5CrNi18-10 - 1.4301 (T-304 L) lightweight grade stainless steel and includes double perforated sound absorption tubes based on the Halbgegenstromprinzip (half counter current principle). The acoustic silencer absorption tubes are made in a trapezoidal pattern and are perforated with varying diameters. This design isolates and dampens the unwanted frequencies that create drone. This design reduces more back pressure than the more commonly used baffle plates at higher gas velocities. So, you will experience larger performance gains throughout the entire rev range with better throttle response, especially when paired with software, intake and further exhaust modifications. The resulting sound exhibited is a sonorous factory motorsport sound, with gurgling and crackling off high throttle.
